ARx, LLC, a subsidiary of Adhesives Research, is pleased to announce its dissolvable film technology was selected as Technology Product of the Year by the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania. ARx accepted the award at the 16th Annual Awards Gala held at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on March 28, 2008.
“The Council is pleased to recognize the excellent applications and innovations that are being demonstrated right here in Pennsylvania,” said Kelly Lewis, President and CEO of the Technology Council, at the awards gala.
ARx develops and manufactures innovative pharmaceutical products, including custom-developed dissolvable film and adhesive platforms for oral drug delivery, transdermal drug delivery and biopharmaceuticals. The ARx team was the first to develop and commercialize a systemically active combination thin film product and to break the 50-mg load barrier in a thin film strip. ARx’s dissolvable film technology can be found in commercial thin film products sold in the United States, Canada and Latin America, including Novartis Consumer Health’s Triaminic® Thin Strips™ pediatric cough and cold products, Theraflu® Thin Strips™ cold and flu products, and Gas-X® Thin Strips™ anti-gas relief products.
“This award is great recognition and reflects the efforts of our associates and clients to bring new, meaningful products to the healthcare market,” said Beth Vondrak, VP/GM of ARx. “We are only beginning to recognize the power of this technology and look forward to building on its potential over the coming years. We are fortunate that our region both supports and recognizes our efforts in advancing innovation in healthcare.”
