Feeding the Community with Heart & Soul

Last Updated on

As marketers, we’re very focused on what impact our work has on our clients’ businesses. When our client is a social services organization, our focus turns to how we’re helping impact our community. And when the impact has a multiplying factor, it makes our work all the more gratifying. That was never more evident than our recently-completed work with Community Action Partnership (CAP) and Crispus Attucks on the social enterprise project known as Reunion. Most folks in Lancaster will appreciate the new food truck’s Southern-style dishes like barbecue, smoked brisket, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, pork belly tacos with coleslaw, and sweet potato waffle fries. But it’s the multipliers that get us the most excited.

Half of the Reunion’s proceeds will go toward Crispus Attucks’ community meal program that serves food to the hungry. The other half will go toward a CAP program that will help low-income people (who see culinary arts as their pathway out of poverty) by providing job shadow opportunities and scholarship money to those attending local culinary programs.

We were honored to have created the Reunion brand and designed the food truck graphics. The back of the truck even includes the CAP brand we created last year.

So, next time you see Reunion parked and welcoming people, stop and enjoy some amazing Lancaster Soul Food. In addition to being in for a real treat, you’ll be investing in the lives of people in our community. That’s a pay-it-forward model that satisfies a lot of souls.
